Power Hour Readalong – Day 01

Welcome back to That’s What Pea Said… Today I began the Power Hour readalong on behalf of Tandem Collection and I’m honestly so excited to get stuck in! I have decided to share my journey on my blog, in addition to on my Instagram story – firstly for my accountability and second because I’m hoping that by sharing my journey, this will inspire you to create your own power hour… Power Hour has been written to motivate and inspire, whilst assisting us with focusing on our goals in order to create a life we love.

One of my favourite things about joining read-alongs is the interactive element and I’ve always been a sucker for a list and tangible tasks which make me feel like I’m moving forwards and making progress with my life. To be honest, this opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time, because I think we’re all in agreement that we all need a little more motivation and encouragement…

Over the next 8 days, I’ll be completing tasks and creating my very own power hour and I can’t wait to see the results – this is right up my street and personally, more beneficial to me that creating a new years resolution, after all I like to make positive changes every day and as and when I see fit!


Today’s motivation is a much needed reminder: ‘you can do hard things’ and focuses on the power of our mindset. Today we are encouraged to dedicate the time to consider our mindset and how this impacts our actions. Author, Adrienne shares her exercise ‘six questions to answer before six’. Tomorrow, I’ll be answering the questions in my journal – I think they’re a fabulous way to create a positive mindset for the day:

01: What energy do I want to have today?
02: What can I learn from today?
03: Who can I help today?
04: What one things can I do today to take me closer to where I want to be a year from now?
05: What am I most looking forward to today?
06: What am I most grateful for today?

Although we are encouraged to create our power hour before the day officially starts, I’ve chosen to begin mine between 8-9am, due to my health waking up at 6:30 isn’t a viable option and would potentially be more detrimental to my health and wellbeing. Fortunately, we have the power to choose when to start our power hour, in the same way that we have the power to create a life which we love.

As I said, I’m really looking forward to completing this read-along and I hope that you’ll follow me on my journey.
