5 things I’m loving this week…

Welcome back to That’s What Pea Said… Have you checked out my latest blog post: Power Hour Readalong – Day 06? There is no hiding from the fact that the world is a pretty dull place right now and if you are following my blog and socials you will undoubtedly know that I am a big fan of gratitude… I thought that it would be positive to take time to think about five things which I’m enjoying each week, to share with you and to set time aside to focus on some of the things which bring me joy. Whilst I am mindful not to make them too personal (y’know some things might be considered TMI) I hope they are things which you’ll be curious to try for yourself and hopefully they’ll bring you some enjoyment too.

Last weekend I shared on Instagram that I was trying 5-HTP vitamins which I received from Nutravita. After completing the Power Hour Readalong I began the Badass Habits Readalong (which I plan to begin sharing tomorrow)… As I have said before, I love taking part in interactive readalongs and Badass Habits has been no exception. In addition to being a really joyful and inspirational book to read, I have been able to participate in a 21day habit challenge alongside the other readers, kindly organised by Tandem Collective UK. Last Saturday, I was lucky enough to be invited to chat with Author Jen Sincero and I can honestly say not only is she a fabulous author, she was delightful to chat with. I have loved reading Badass Habits and I can’t wait to check out the rest of the series… I’m on my 2021 No Spend, if anybody fancies a book swap HMU and we can make the badass magic happen…

Although I suffer from Chronic Pain, I actively avoid pharmaseutical painkillers and prefer to use holistic products to ease my pains… Personally, I am not a fan of products like deep heat as I find they burn and the smell is highly potent, however Jones The Bones: muscle and joint oil is an absolute gamechanger and I now use this product daily. Not only do I love this product because it’s highly effective, but it was developed by Osteopaths along the North Wales coast, which is where my family are from… This oil has a lovely holistic smell and is both warming and soothing on the skin. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have probably noticed that I enjoy using my Animal Kin Oracle Cards and that it’s quite possibly my favourite deck, especially for daily card pulls… The artwork is beautiful and the cards don’t complicate their message. This week I have spent time re-connecting with my cards and finding new and creative ways to display them in my posts, to try and keep my content interesting and engaging… This mornings card was the Lion – which symbolisies ‘confidence’. Confidence is defintely something which I could do with a little more of, in addition to wakefulness, but as I’ve said before – there are some blockers, we can change and some we can’t, so confidence is something which I’m working on..

The fifth thing which I have been loving this week is going for walks with my dog Lola… I am a total whimp when it comes to being cold and so I’ve been layering up with my thermals and wearing my loves coat – admittedly, it’s not the most flattering look but I’d much rather be snug so I can enjoy my time outside, instead of worrying about catching hypothermia… There are many benefits to getting outside and walking more, if you’re looking for some inspiration and super easy ways to walk more, you can have a read of my post here. What I particularly like about the step hacks which I have shared is that they are really adaptable and so you’ll reap the benefits without having to give your daily routine an overwhelming overhaul…

I may have unconventially began this series on the third week of the new year, however there is no time like the present and I have enjoyed taking the time to think about some of the things which I have been loving this week.   1. Before I got diagnosed with depression and prescribed medication, I took 5HTC for about 9 months but sadly did not gain any benefits from it. I found a 10% or higher CBD oil was a much better for me than the 5HTC 🙂
